About Us
Founded in 1823, Troon Old Parish Church was recognized as a quoad sacra congregation (created and functioning for ecclesiastical purposes only) in 1837, when the Parish of Dundonald was split in three to form Dundonald Parish, Fullarton (Halfway) Q. S. Parish and Troon Q. S. Parish.  Over our history the congregation has met in five different locations in the town, settling in the present Blanc designed sanctuary in 1895.  Since 1823, we have been served by eight ministers including Revd Alastair H. Symington. The Parish of Troon Old is a constituent part of the Presbytery of Ayr.

The Church of Scotland is Trinitarian in doctrine, Reformed in tradition and Presbyterian in polity.  It exists to glorify God and to work for the advancement of Christ's Kingdom throughout the world.  As a national Church, it acknowledges a distinctive call and duty to bring the ordinances of religion to the people in every parish of Scotland through a territorial ministry.  It co-operates with other Churches in various ecumenical bodies in Scotland and beyond.

Activities include Services of Worship, Youth Fellowship, Sunday School, including Crèche and Bible Classes.  Communion services are held three times per year plus two family communions.  There are both an active Woman’s Guild and Fundraising Committee whose members contribute greatly to the work that has been done to maintain the level of voluntary fundraising.
